Fresh New Ways To Wear Floral 3/24/2017 0 Comments   Get your closet ready for an explosion of fresh floral designs this upcoming season as we leave behind the dull winter cold and enter into the bright spring sunshine (thank you Lord Jesus!). I know I need to do some spring cleaning on my own closet in order to get it ready for all the beautiful floral clothes I'm going to pack in there. It’s no secret that floral patterns have earned its way to become one of the best and most trending fashion statements this spring season thanks to the New York Fashion Week 2017 (plus spring = blooming flowers), and now it’s your time to invest in this beautiful trend. It doesn't matter if you prefer a bold edgy look or a more feminine simple look, there's a way to wear floral print for all types. You can find floral prints on dresses, skirts, tops, pants, shoes, and well everywhere! Below are some of my favorite looks on wearing florals in a fresh way.

Why It's Important To Burn The Sweats And Buy Real Pants

Burn them! For the love of all that is dear and holy, burn the dang sweat pants. I don't care if you have to shred or rip them as long as they disappear from the face of this planet.

"Why should I get rid of my yoga pants? They're comfortable, and I don't care what you think. You can get over it."

Well you have a point. They are comfortable, and I can get over it, but will you get over it when people don't give you the respect you deserve or you get rejected for that promotion because your employers saw you out in nude sweat pants.

It's not right, but it's how the world works. If you want that dream job, promotion, or prestige you're going to have to look the part. Dress up and put on a pair of real slacks.

Everyday.

Yeah, I mean everyday, and I even mean to Walmart. Look, I get it. Sweats are wonderful! I love wearing them. It's like wearing a cloud of  fluff on your legs, but it's not so fluff and cuddles when my colleagues or potential bosses see me pumping gas wearing oversize stained sweats.

Want to know another little secret? I actually feel amazing when I dress up. I can't tell you how many people I see frowning when they wear sweats (yeah I watch people. I'm weird). Their faces scream "I give up on life!" Now when I see people dressed up, like real slacks, they are smiling. They appear confident and ready to take on the world. Now it's not to say that that's how they actually feel, but I can't help but wonder if the way they're dressed has something to do with it.

What I am trying to say is just dress up and wear slacks. Try even for a week straight. No sweats period except for around your home. See how you feel, how your employers treat you. Have pride in yourself to know that you're more worthy than just a pair of stained up, oversize sweats. Have pride in how you look, stand up tall and proud. You are worth it.

Fashion trends come and go but there are some items that survive through the age of time that is essential to pull a closet together. I put together a list of a six staple items that every woman needs to own in order for her wardrobe to be the very best and that can go with anything. I must warn you, these are items you don’t want to go without, and it's best to go with the highest quality for these items because you want these items to survive a long time.


1. Basic Neutral Tee: Soft, casual, and easy to layer on it’s no wonder why every woman needs to own a basic tee that is in a neutral color. Dress it up by adding a floral cardigan, stay casual by adding a leather vest, or keep it simple with a colorful accessory.


2. Dark Skinny Denim: There’s just something so sleek, neat, and stylish about a pair of dark skinny denim. They never wrinkle, you can dress it up or go casual, and it stands through the age of time. Dark skinny denim brings the outfit together in sophistication.

3. Neutral Colored Wallet Clutch: Wallet clutches are the best thing to happen since sliced bread. Why? Because a neutral color wallet clutch, especially a faux leather, adds classiness to any outfit for any event without the hassle of carrying a giant bag. You can carry your lipstick, important cards, money, license, and change.

4.Neutral Slip On Booties: I absolutely love neutral colored booties because they're perfect for any season and a great transition item. Dress them up with pretty sundress or wear casual with distressed denim and a graphic tee. Trust me, you'll love them.

5. Pearl Necklace Choker: Every wardrobe has to have a staple accessory piece. A single neutral band choker with a single pearl adds a classic touch to any outfit. Dressy or casual it's a great versatile piece.

6. Little Black Dress: Every woman has to HAVE a cutle little black dress. You can add heels and diamonds for that perfect date night or add a denim jacket and tennis shoes for a fun casual look.

10 Essentials To Pack For Spring Break 3/11/2017 0 Comments   Spring break is here! Blooming trees, longer days, sunshine, and warmer weather.  My heart just can't! It's time for beaches, lakes, parties, road trips, campfires, and so many more. Aaaah! I'm just so excited. But first, we need to discuss that hassling topic. What do I bring for spring break without overloading my suitcase? I've pulled together some KEY essential items that you have to bring for your adventure. 1.Keds Shoes I cannot stress enough how important it is to have a good pair of walking shoes. Whether you are hiking through the mountains or sightseeing Hollywood, your feet will thank you when you wear a good pair of Keds shoes on. 2.Baseball Cap Protect your head and eyes from the sun while looking cute in a preppy baseball cap. I love wearing baseball caps on trips because I don't have to fuss with my hair. No one has time for that! 3.Wristlets Wallets Nothing is worse than handling and keeping up with a giant purse. I love wristlets because they're light, and they hold all my important cards and money I need during a trip. Trust me, when you are walking around a lot you don't need anything heavy. 4.Sun Screen Skin cancer isn't cool or pretty. Getting a beach tan isn't worth it. Your skin will thank you in the long run.Take the sun screen and APPLY IT! Your life is more important than looking tan. 5.Shorts  Okay, this is just common sense but still needs to be included. I have major brain farts when I'm rushing to pack so sometimes I just need a reminder. 6.Basic Top Leave your fancy ruffled tops at home because you won't wear them. Keep your tops basic and simple because you can throw them over swimsuits, add sheer shawls for a dressy night, or wear as is for comfort. Simplicity is key. 7.Maxi Dress  I love casual maxi dresses. They are so perfect to wear at the beach barefooted while sipping smoothies or dancing at the hottest tropical club. I personally love wearing mine over my swimsuit. I always feel like a Hawaiian goddess! 8.Heels Now this may seem contrary to what I said earlier, but do you think Keds shoes will look cute with that date night dress? Now don't wear your heels while hiking (kudos to you if you can) but wear them out for dancing and sipping fancy beach drinks. 9.Sheer Cardigans  These light, sheer cardigans are just beautiful to wear over your swimsuits, and they add a touch of sophistication to your basic tops. What To Do When You're In Your Mid 20's And Still Single

“Help me! I'm in my mid 20's, and I’m still single!”

​I understand your pain girl. If you are like me, you are entering the mid 20's all on your own in a society that still stigmatizes single adult women. But first, I need to give you a little advice.

Stop it! Just stop it!

Being single in your mid 20's is no tragedy. In fact, I would rather embrace my own life head on as a single lady than be with someone who isn’t right for me for the sake of not being alone. Trust me! Nothing feels more lonelier than being with someone who isn't right for you!

I’m not going to lie though, it’s tough seeing all these happy, love-filled couples. But you know what? I love me! That’s right! And I need you to love you because you are amazing, beautiful, confident, and radiant all on your own. It doesn't matter if you are young or old, skinny or curvy, working in fast food or in law firm. You are beautiful and worthy on your own. 

You know what girl, forget about trying to nag a date on Tinder and Match (trust me he's probably creepy and a bum). Take yourself out on a date! Dress yourself up for you and go to that new restaurant you always wanted to go.  Surround yourself with awesome gal pals who encourage you to be your best because you are worth it.

How do I create my own style? Aren’t there rules and trends to go by?

I’m going to tell you guys a secret that most fashion industries won’t tell you. There are no rules.

What? What about all the in season trends and in style looks? Well that’s the thing. Somebody had to start that trend. Somebody had to go against the norm to create that latest fashion statement. 

Fashion is what you make it. Your style, your creativity, your uniqueness. It’s all this that creates the fashion. Not the latest trends, or the biggest styles on the runways. It’s all about you. What you make of it, what you choose to do with it. 

Do you really think Calvin Klein created his style based on the rules set by fashion magazines? Or what about Betsy Johnson or Lily Pulitzer? If the biggest fashion designers hadn’t gone against the norm then their beautiful lines wouldn’t be in the stores today. 

You do you. Sure, we can give you ideas, tips, a spark, but in the end you have to decide what you think is best for you.
